Structured Data Cabling Category 6 Installation
A high-end large serviced office management company based in Theale, Reading required 120 Category 6 Structured IT data cables installing.
The structured Cat 6 cabling was to be installed into a first floor work area that had been vacated by the previous client. The cables were to be wired through the underfloor voids and down a central riser, back to the Telecoms room located on the ground floor.
We specified the use of extra deep management bars at this installation - this helps to preserve the bend radius of the patch leads for optimum performance.
All of the Category 6 floor box outlets are angled modules, which ensures that the fly leads are not damaged by the floor box lids when closed. The installation was labelled with engraved stick-on labels.
As well as the IT network cabling, we provided and connected 20 new floor boxes to the underfloor electric track distribution system. We also supplied and fitted new lids to existing floor boxes where they had become damaged. Quite a few floor boxes needed to be relocated to new positions, which we completed, as well as cutting in all floor carpet tiles.
We provided ‘As Built’ drawings, Category 6 certification Fluke Test results, and a 25-year warranty certificate from HellermannTyton Network Sciences.
